NEW ULM, Minn. -

New Ulm Medical Center will be collecting bike donations Saturday. They are teaming up with Free Bikes 4 Kidz to collect donated bicycles for kids in need throughout the region.

People can bring new or gently used bikes to the New Ulm Medical Center tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New Ulm Medical Center community relations Carisa Buegler says a bike can have a big impact on a child's life.

Buegler says, "Also encourages kids to get more active get more physically active and get involved in the community it's a great way to get those bikes that aren't being used in the hands of kids that really truly need them."

The kids will also receive free helmets and concussion prevention information. The collected bikes are refurbished and distributed in December, just in time for the holidays. The first 50 people who donate will receive a free long–sleeved t–shirt. Last year, New Ulm Medical Center collected more than 100 bikes.
