Manufacturers across the area opened their doors to the public on Thursday afternoon.
Coloplast in North Mankato was one of several businesses providing tours to the public.
The event gave students, job seekers, those who were just curious-a chance to see how various products are made locally.
Aside from the general public gathering details, Coloplast spokespeople say the tours also benefit their company.
"It really helps us recruit high-potential individuals to help the innovation side of things," said Matthew Nuytten of Coloplast.
Those who toured Coloplast this afternoon say the opportunity gave them insight on what products they are able to purchase locally and support area businesses.
Coloplast is headquartered in Denmark. The Mankato branch produces various skin products and bags.
