Voters have approved school levies in Lake Crystal, Madelia and Fairmont.
The LCWM district faced two questions: a renewal of the existing operating levy won by a margin of 65 to 35 percent. The second question, a capital Levy for upgrading technology, was more of a dead heat, with 1654 yes votes to 1626 no votes, a margin of just 28 votes. The tax impact for the Technology Levy is $16.00 a year on a $100,000 home.
In Madelia, a proposed $700-per-pupil levy passed 56 to 43 percent.
Fairmont voters also approved a levy decisively, 62 to 37 percent. It would increase the current learning levy from $500 per student to $950, which would increase the average household's property taxes around $100 a year.
Voters in Sleepy Eye rejected a 500 dollar per pupil, five-year levy by a vote of 56 to 43 percent.
