MSU Men's Basketball Team Opens Season With 100 On BLC

Posted: Updated:

The MSU men's basketball team held their season opener this evening, hosting Bethany Lutheran with acting head coach Mike Schott filling in while Matt Margenthaler is out for the first two games due to an NCAA secondary rules violation.
Mavericks had this one under control even without Margo as Zach Monaghan throws the alley-oop to Connor O'Brien for two of his ten points.
Than Monaghan loses control but Assem Marei pulls it away from two Vikings players and goes in for the dunk.
Bethany would find a couple of opportunities to score on the Mavericks as Garet Tucker gets the baby hook to drop.
Then Clifford Johnson finds Nick Sanborn who knocks down the jumper from the elbow.
Mavericks just too strong, as they hit the century mark in the final minutes when Zach Romashko hits for three of his game high 19, and MSU goes on to win big 100-42.
