MSU Football Back To Work To Prepare For NW Missouri State

Posted: Updated:

Just like the Vikings, the MSU football team is rested and ready for a regular week of practice after receiving a first round bye in the division two national tournament.
It is the longest the Mavericks have gone without a game since they played on a Thursday to open the season and had to wait ten days for their 2nd week opponent.

The top seeded Mavericks were back out on the practice field this afternoon to get back to the routine that has led them to a perfect 11-0 record to this point.
MSU now knows they will be hosting Northwest Missouri State in the super region semifinal, after the Wildcats shutout Harding 35-nothing on Saturday.
Acting head coach Aaron Keen says the time off was good to get his team rested and healthy, but the team is ready to focus this week on a very good opponent.

Coach Keen says the key to continuing the team's success into the playoffs, is to try and make this week as normal as the rest, but it could get tricky with Thanksgiving falling on Thursday.

That is still two days before kickoff.
MSU hosts Northwest Missouri State at Blakeslee Stadium on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for noon.
