No Major Black Friday Incidents For Public Safety

Local authorities also calling Black Friday a success. Mankato Public safety reporting no problems overnight into this morning, saying everything went smoothly in the stores and on the roads. No rest for them though, as they are now gearing up for holiday activities at Sibley Park.

Mankato Public Safety Commander, Jeremy Clifton, said, "Be patient. Use the map and what's been made available through the media and on the city's website to try to get as much information as you can prior to getting to the event. But I would prepare a half-hour early if you want to get there right at the beginning at 5 p.m."

This is the first -ever holiday lights parade at Sibley Park. Officials are expecting and prepared for a huge crowd this evening. Once again, opening ceremonies start at 5 p.m., the parade at 6 p.m., with the lighting ceremony to follow.
