An intestinal virus is confirmed as the culprit that sickened dozens of people at two events recently at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato.

The Minnesota Department of Health says Norovirus is to blame, and they're tracking the illness to a food service employee or employees.

You may recall about 50 of the 450 people attending a Greater Mankato Growth function at the Center reported feeling ill a few days after the event.

Others also became sick after a separate veterans banquet was held there.

The Department of Health estimates about 30-40% of the people who attended these events got sick.

Health officials say the best way to avoid the Norovirus is to wash your hands thoroughly.
