MSU Men's Basketball Team Ready for Big Weekend Ahead

Posted: Updated:

The MSU men's basketball team can't complain about the start to the season.

The Mavericks have gone 5–0 which nearly matches last year's seven total victories.

The team still has a long way to go to get back to the final four they reached in 2010, but the players that saw both the high and lows over the past two seasons, feel this squad is on the right track.

The Mavs admit they didn't have a great game against Concordia–Saint Paul last Saturday to start the NSIC season.

MSU still came away with the victory, which means a lot for a team that is still learning every day.

The Mavericks have a big test coming this weekend, starting Friday with 9th ranked Winona State bringing along player of the year Clayton Veddy to Taylor Center, before MSU hosts Upper Iowa on Saturday.

Coach Margenthaler says a win against the Warriors would add to the confidence that his team already has, but both games are equally important.
