MSU Football Mavericks Eager to Host National Semifinal

Posted: Updated:

The countdown rolls on for the MSU football mavericks who are now just two days away from their division 2 national semifinal game against Valdosta State. We've already commented this week on the Mavs top rated defense, but their extremely efficient offense has been a factor in their undefeated season as well.

The Mavericks are looking to continuing their success on the ground.  The last game saw Connor Thomas run for 159 yards, with Andy Pfeiffer recording 120 yards rushing two weeks ago.

Acting head coach Aaron Keen says while the running game is crucial, it is MSU quarterback Jon Wolf who has been key to this title drive.

The Mavericks have been able to enjoy the home cooking during this playoff run, knowing as the top seed they had the chance to host the first two games. The NCAA chose MSU to host the semifinal as well, and the Mavs couldn't be happier to stay on track and go 1–and–0 one more time at Blakeslee Stadium.
