The MSU men's hockey team has been gaining some steam over the past month.
The Mavericks are riding a four game winning streak heading into this weekend when they will host the Seawolves from Alaska Anchorage.
The Mavs have seen their confidence grow since splitting with the Gophers in early November.
MSU followed that by losing a pair of one goal games at home to Denver. Despite being swept, the team was pleased with the effort level in the losses to the Pioneers.
MSU carried it over to use the brooms at Wisconsin and Bemidji State when they returned home last weekend.
The Mavericks will have a tougher time making it three straight sweeps this week.
Alaska–Anchorage has yet to be swept this season, recording wins against Minnesota and North Dakota. A-A took three of four points against Saint Cloud State last weekend, and with MSU's recent success, it should be a showdown at The Cell.
