Mower County hikes pay for elected officials

Several elected officials in Mower County have been given raises ranging from about $1,000 to $5,000 per year.

County commissioners approved the salary increases for four officials plus other non-union employees.

The pay changes will start next year.

County attorney Kristen Nelsen will get the biggest increase. Her salary will rise from about $96,000 to over than $101,000.

Other jobs seeing wage hikes include the sheriff, county recorder, and the auditor-treasurer.

Non-union employees will see raises of about one percent.
