A Mankato woman accused of illegally taking her kids from a Blue Earth County foster home has pleaded guilty.
Before Thanksgiving of last year, authorities say Reina Gandarilla unlawfully took her kids from a foster home and disappeared with them. The three were found six days later in a Mankato motel.
On December 31st, 21-year-old Gandarilla pleaded guilty to one felony count in connection with the case. Her public defender says Gandarilla chose to plead guilty.
"There is an going case in the family-law courts that allows her the potential to be reunited with her children, and she want to get out and start working on the case plan for that action as soon as possible," said Richard Hillesheim, Gandarilla's public defender.
Gandarilla due back in court for sentencing on March 5th.
