Police in North Mankato say a convicted felon armed himself with an arsenal of weapons because he thought he needed to protect his family and his neighborhood from the government. Authorities say a search of Michael Caya's house on Robin Court also turned up methanphetamine and other drugs. Drug agents say guns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia were found lying around the house within reach of Caya's young children. A criminal complaint filed in Nicollet County District Court says at least seven weapons were found, including handguns, shotguns and a rifle. The 29-year-old father faces 22 felony counts, including drug and weapons charges.
