Minnesota drivers saw the largest average gasoline price increase in the country. That's according to AAA. Minnesota average gas price hikes in January led the nation, jumping up 33 cents per gallon. This compares to a 13 cent average increase for regular unleaded gas nationwide. The triple A report added that January is historically among the least expensive months for gas prices, but this year marked the second highest average price on record. AAA expects prices will increase at a slower rate in February and continue upward through May.
