Kraft Sets New Scoring Mark For Cleveland

Posted: Updated:

Tommy Kraft has been a scoring machine for the Cleveland Clippers varsity basketball team since freshman year.
Kraft started out as a three point shooter, but has progressively got closer to the hoop seeing him drive to the rim as a senior.
It was a nice gift for Cleveland first year head coach Dan Frederickson to start rebuilding the Clippers' basketball program.

Frederickson says Kraft can do it all on offense, handling the ball and an explosive scorer whether he's posting up or hitting a mid range jumper, posting 30 points a game, including a school record 42.
It is what you would expect for a player that has been a captain since 10th grade.

Kraft already hit a huge milestone this season, setting the school's all-time scoring record, after he passed Bill Matejcek's mark of 1554 points on January 15th.
Kraft says the accomplishment means a lot, but he really wants to lead the Clippers to their first winning season since 2005.

That attitude is just the reason why the new coach thinks he is such a good role model for his program's future.

And it's why Kraft is our KEYC Scheels All-Sports Boys Prep Athlete of the Week.
