MSU men's hockey was looking to break a three game home losing streak when they opened a weekend series with Michigan Tech on Friday. The Huskies scored first on a powerplay goal, but the Mavericks would even it on an even strength goal from Dylan Margonari. MSU would take the lead early in the 2nd period when Eriah Hayes tallies an unassisted goal. Tech would tie it later in the 2nd on another power play, but three minutes later Johnny McInnis gets a big slap shot to light the lamp and it is the game winner. MSU would add one more in the 3rd and the Mavericks go on to win 4-2.
