Wrestling isn't the only state meet going this week.
The boys swimming and diving championship is going as well, including several swimmers from Mankato.
Mankato East-Loyola senior Bobby Schultze is
one of the swimmers at the University of Minnesota, and he's our KEYC Scheels All-Sports Boys Prep Athlete of the Week.
Bobby Schultze has been lapping the competition in the Mankato East pool for over five years.
The Cougars' senior swimmer has set and attained his goals each year from lettering in 8th grade to making all state as a junior.
Now Schultze has his sights on top-six finishes for his 200 Indivdual Medley and 100 Butterfly this weekend at the U of M Aquatic Center.
After hitting personal records in both events at the section meet last Saturday 2 minute 3.19 seconds in the I-M and 53.99 seconds in the fly, it looks like there is a good chance he will hit his goals once again.
Not only did Schultze make state for the two individual events, but the 200 and 400 freestyle relays he is the lead swimmer for qualified to give him a chance to share the glory with his teammates.
Schultze was also Mankato East's Triple-A winner for arts, academics, and athletics, but he hopes to be a winner in his final trip to state.
That's why he's our KEYC Scheels All-Sports Boys Prep Athlete of the Week.
