The DNR is reminding ice fisherman of Southern Minnesota's icehouse deadline this upcoming Monday. Out on Lake Washington many anglers have already gotten their icehouses off the lake. All permanent structures must be taken off lakes in the southern two–thirds of the state by midnight on March 4th. Bobber Shop's Toney Meixner says, "Some guys have some guys are waiting until they have to have the houses off. We'll still have more guys out with four–wheelers and stuff as the year goes."
If you do not remove your shelter by the deadline the DNR warns owners will be prosecuted and your shelter may be confiscated or destroyed by a conservation officer.
