It only took Carlie Wagner a 50 point effort, but the NRHEG girls basketball team is the Minnesota Class AA State Champions. The Panthers' beat Braham 60-59, after leading the Bombers by a dozen at halftime. Braham's leading scorer Rebekah Dahlman was held to just two points in the first half after getting into foul trouble, but she stormed back to finish with 32 before fouling out. It would be Wagner who would put NRHEG in the lead with 6 seconds left when she was fouled. The Golden Gopher recruit made the first of two free throws to break a 59-59 tie. Wagner would miss the second, giving Braham an opportunity to win with a last second shot. Instead, Wagner would steal the ball at the timeline and run out the clock on her way to the hoop as NRHEG claims its first state basketball title 60-59.
