MANKATO, Minn. -

Bowls of soup were served up Saturday night in Mankato for a good cause.

The event called 'Warm Your Heart' benefited Minnesota Valley Action Council (MVAC). The organization provides an array of services ranging from food and clothing to employment.

Around 200 people dressed-up for the event as they sampled 20 different soups dished out by area restaurants.

Organizers say around 50 businesses contributed to 'Warm Your Heart.'

"The most overwhelming thing about this whole thing is just the community support that came together in order to put this event on, everything here is donated," said John Woodwick, MVAC executive director.

The soups served were also adjudicated. News 12's Lisa Cownie was on hand to help with the judging efforts.

Proceeds from tonight's event will help Minnesota Valley Action Council relocate to a new building.
