MSU Men's Basketball Team Advances, Women Upset By 8th Seed

The MSU men's basketball team was happy to host the D-II National Championship Central Region.
The Mavericks would have to wonder about their opponent for the opening round as the Wonder Boys from Arkansas Tech play in a conference MSU is not very familiar with.
MSU did know however to stay on their toes after they saw the top seed from the women's Central Region get bumped by the 8-seed last night in Topeka.
The Mavericks led by just three at halftime, and let the Wonder Boys comeback to tie it in the 2nd half.  MSU would finally open it up to a double digit lead that would stick with Jarvis Williams leading the way with 19 points, as the Mavericks advance 81-65.

The MSU women found itself as the top remaining seed in Topeka, after the 1, 2, and 3 seeds were all ousted in the opening round.  The Mavericks took on the 8th seed from Emporia State who had just beat the top seed from Washburn.  MSU held a one point lead at halftime, but Emporia State comes back to upset again 69-67.
