In Michigan's Upper Peninsula it seems the best way to say goodbye to winter is to do so with a torch.
In Sault Ste. Marie, a snowman was set ablaze. The event is a unique tradition at Lake Superior State University. The flames didn't take long to devour Frosty.
The 'snowman,' was made out of shredded paper.
People in attendance cheered as the snowman was reduced to ashes, signifying the welcoming of spring.
After it was all done, the university handed out flowers to get everyone in the spring spirit.
