More than 50 authors and publishers were in Saint Peter today for the city's second–annual Book Festival. The event was hosted by "Saint Peter Reads", which is an organization that brings authors to speak at schools and the community at large. In addition to numerous book booths, the festival also provided panels for authors to discuss their books. Organizer Molly Yunkers says, "I think when you have a chance to meet the author or meet the illustrator and get to visit with them, I think it means even more when you know what's behind the book or who's written it."
Organizers say, having the authors available gives people an opportunity to ask questions about the book and have a better understanding of the literature.
