Back in Mankato, the sun was actually out, but it was still in the 40s so fans at the MSU game didn't know whether to grab a blanket or wear shorts to watch the Mavs take on Augustana.
Game two of the double header sees the Vikings threatening with two on and two out in the 2nd inning, but T.J. Larson gets Ben Ludwigson to swing according to the homeplate umpire, so the throw to third didn't even need to be made...Augie's coach didn't care for that call much.
Home half of the inning sees MSU with runners on the corners and Lucas Skjefte single up the middle to score Nolan Johnson from third...1-0 Mavericks.
A passed ball would allow the runners to advance and Mike Andries will bring them both in as he rips one that gets past Vikings third baseman Tony Viger...Connor McCallum scores and Skjefte is close behind to make it 3-nothing.
Augustana would rally late, but MSU gets out the brooms.
Mavs win game two 6-4, after a dramatic 4-3 victory in game one.
The two teams will play one more time Monday morning at 11 a-m.
