The CEO of the Mayo Clinic says healthcare providers and policymakers need to work harder to provide higher quality care at a lower cost.
Doctor John Noseworthy spoke to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. today.
"The United States desperately needs innovation that addresses our most pressing problems. Uneven healthcare quality, skyrocketing costs, and the lack of tools to help us spend wisely when it comes to healthcare," Noseworthy explains.
His speech highlighted three steps:
A quicker turnaround between research and applying that new knowledge in patient care, creating partnerships that provide higher quality care at a lower price, and providing enough government funding for innovation and quality research to happen.
