Vikings Get Three Picks in First Round

Posted: Updated:

The Minnesota Vikings seemed to address their biggest needs and all in the first round of the NFL Draft last night. Fans knew going in to the night that the team held two first round picks with number 23 and 25, which they picked defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd of Florida, and Cornerback Xavier Rhodes of Florida State.

The Vikes weren't done however as Minnesota traded four of their eleven picks to New England to move to get the 29th pick and choose Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. The team's next big need to obtain in the draft is linebacker, but they will have to wait until Saturday for their next pick in the fourth round, unless they make any other trades to get a pick in today's 2nd or 3rd round.
