MANKATO, Minn. -
The City of Mankato has imposed water restrictions.
The decision was made based on low river levels and strained groundwater supplies.
Watering is being limited to every other day between 6:00 P.M. and 11 A.M.
Odd-numbered street addresses may water on odd-numbered days, while even numbered-homes may water on the even-numbered days of the month.
There are exceptions to the rules.
Exemptions include: new landscaping, washing vehicles, gardens and flower beds, and children's water toys.
If you don't follow the rules, the city says a warning will be issued upon the first notice. After that fees take effect on the second and third notices. A fourth notice will result in the disconnection of irrigation meters or outdoor spigots.
