A North Minneapolis man is in the Blue Earth County Jail, after an incident in Mankato. According to public safety officials, it started when a security officer at the Kato Entertainment Center called to report hearing gun shots outside the ballroom early Sunday morning. A Mankato officer responding to that call, noticed a disturbance at the Holiday gas station. The officer attempted to question people at that scene but, authorities say 20-year-old Davon Jones refused, attempted to leave the scene and had to be tazed. Commander Dan Schisel says, "While they were patting him down it was discovered that he had a Ruger 9 mm handgun in his pants pocket. It was loaded there (was) a magazine with ammunition in it and the person was arrested for the weapons violation, along with numerous other violations." Authorities also arrested 23 year-old Arthur Fields of St. Paul and 19-year-old Michael Corey Jones of Minneapolis. Requested charges for all three suspects include: 2nd Degree Riot with a Dangerous Weapon. Authorities have not been able to confirm the original report of shots fired. Both incidents are still under investigation.
