Droves of people came out today for the Walk MS event around the campus of MSU.
Hundreds of participants walked in support of family and friends who have multiple sclerosis.
Myers Field House played host to the indoor track, but since the weather cooperated, many followed the outdoor path around campus.
There were people of all ages with groups large and small who came out to show their support today. Money collected will go towards research and support groups.
"It's fun, it's simple, it's fun. Just get your friends and family together. You're supporting people out there in the community," says Sarah Peterson, MS Walk Ambassador.
According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, there are approximately 2.1 million people worldwide who are affected by the disease.
MS causes a wide range of symptoms that vary from person to person, which make it hard to diagnose. While an exact cause is still uncertain, it is an immune–mediated disease that targets the central nervous system.
