"May the Force be with you..." a legendary "star wars" phrase dubbed in languages around the world.
And now for the first time in Navajo.
Manuelo Wheeler, director of the Navajo Nation Museum, reached out to Lucasfilm Ltd. with the idea.
He sees it as entertaining, educational and a way to preserve the Navajo language at a time when fewer tribal members are speaking it.
Independent films and documentaries at film festivals have lent themselves to American Indian tribes.
But it's far less common for mainstream movies to do the same.
Before Star Wars... "Bambi" and the cartoon series "the Berenstain Bears" were dubbed in native languages.
