This demonstrates a need in Blue Earth County as residents put in the biggest order in the state for rain barrels and compost bins. Blue Earth County recently partnered with the Recycling Association of Minnesota for the first time this season to offer residents rain barrels and compost bins at a discounted price as part of a pre-order sale. Residents who have pre-ordered a rain barrel or compost bin are reminded that there is only one day to pick up their orders. That is this Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 651 Summit Avenue in Mankato. The facility will be closed for regular business and only rain barrel and compost bin pick-up service will be offered.
