The body found in South Bend township has been identified as Maverick Henry Arrowood, a homeless man who has been living in the Mankato area for several years.
Arrowood's body was discovered on June sixth on private property in a wooded area.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Department has been unable to contact family members, but they were able to figure out his identity through their discussions with others who were concerned about Arrowood being missing.
Captain Rich Murry with the B.E.C. Sheriff's Department says, "Through our investigation we were able to determine that at one point he had braces. Following upon that we were able to get dental records and through those and portions of the remains we were able to get positive identification on the body."
Authorities have yet to determine cause of death.
Blue Earth County Sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call them at 507-387-5601.
