The death investigation underway in St. Peter has now been ruled a murder-suicide by authorities as we learn more about what happened after 5:30 Monday evening at a residence at 601 South Front Street leaving two people dead.
St. Peter Police are now saying according to their investigation at the scene it appears a woman was shot by a man who then turned the gun on himself.
St. Peter Police Chief Matt Peters tells News 12 according to their investigation, 53–year–old Joel Bruce Reineke of Kasota shot Jacquelyn Marie Johnson, 48 of St Peter, before turning the gun on himself.
St. Peter Police were called to the home for an unknown medical emergency for an "unresponsive female." Police say upon arrival they found the two bodies.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate it was a murder suicide.
