The city of Saint Peter is warning 4th of July parade squatters to not be surprised if their placeholders are no longer there when they arrive tomorrow.
The city says people have been staking their claim for spots for over a week.
They say to keep in mind that if the place you were trying to keep is on city owned property, the grass is mowed regularly, and workers will remove materials to get their job done.
Private property owners may also remove blankets and chairs to mow or ensure their lawns don't die from being covered for sometimes several days.
The city asks squatters to be considerate so they don't inconvenience those property owners that live along the parade route.
