Captured. That's the message from the Blue Earth County Sheriff's office regarding a wanted fugitive.
Authorities say late Tuesday night they captured Jacob John Friedrichs without incident. Friedrichs was wanted on a warrant for allegedly assaulting a peace officer, and was the subject of two separate manhunts in the past 10 days. Friedrichs had eluded authorities a total of four different times. The Blue Earth and Nicollet County Sheriff's offices even offered a $1,000 reward for his arrest. However, Blue Earth County Sheriff Brad Peterson tells News 12 that investigators followed up on their own leads, and that no one will be awarded the reward money.
According to a Blue Earth County press release, Friedrichs was found at 121 Ahlstrom Road around 11:25 Tuesday night. The Blue Earth County Sheriff's office was aided by the Minn. Department of Corrections, the Minn. Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Minn. River Valley Drug Task Force.
Friedrichs is being held in the Blue Earth County jail and awaits his court hearing, which is expected to take place some time Wednesday or Thursday. Authorities expect additional charges related to burglary, theft, fleeing, and assault to be filed against Friedrichs.
