Former KNUJ Radio Host Sentenced

Posted: Updated:

A former radio talk show host for KNUJ was sentenced Monday morning on a felony charge of electronic solicitation of a child in Brown County.

This morning a judge sentenced Jon Jahnke to 45 days in jail and a $1,500 fine.

Jahnke pleaded guilty to using an electronic device to engage in communication with a child relating to or describing sexual conduct.

In exchange for the guilty plea, two of three charges against him were dropped.

According to the criminal complaint, it appears Jahnke was the target of an Internet sting, and was chatting explicitly with a person he thought was a 15–year–old girl but it was actually an undercover special agent with the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Jahnke will begin his staggered sentence on September 20th serving three blocks of 15 days.
