Creative juices flowing over at MSU–Mankato today, as students competed in a sculpture contest.
The medium? Canned food. The sculptures ranged from abstract to more realistic, like a replica of Blakeslee Stadium.
And after the sculpture-building wrapped up, all the food made its way to ECHO food shelf.
Students like Carl Vagle say they feel good helping the community.
"Because rather than just taking from it, I feel my relationship with the community will be better if I'm giving and receiving instead of me just taking and taking," he explained.
No word yet on who won the contest, though Carl says he's confident his team will come in first.
ECHO is currently weighing the canned goods, we'll update you when the final numbers come in.
