The city of Mankato has a new public works director. Mary Fralish has accepted the position and will begin her duties on Thursday.
Her duties as the new director will include responsibilities such as, overseeing water, wastewater, parks and landscaping, transit, regional airport, street maintenance, infrastructure and refuse services.
Fralish will be reporting to the City Manager, Patrick Hentges, who says she has demonstrated her leadership and commitment to the city of Mankato.
She is certified by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency as a class A Minnesota wastewater treatment facility operator and also has a type IV waste disposal facility certificate and has served various roles in the Department of Public Works, most recently as Deputy Director of Environmental Services.
