The Mankato Department of Public Safety capped off the end of fire prevention safety campaign by hosting an open house.
Nearly 150 people attended and were treated to activities to see what firefighters do on a daily basis.
Lieutenant Sean Hayes says this is an important opportunity to connect with the public.
Hayes says, "Having the community know who we are, who to rely on and who they can call and know what we do. For us to know the community and who we serve and then it does clear up some questions of what does a firefighter do on a given day. This is kind of an opportunity to let people know what we do."
Kids also had the chance to climb into a fire truck.
People could also practice using fire extinguishers.
