Authorities suspect alcohol played a factor in a head-on crash that killed four people near Montgomery on Sept. 27.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, a Ford Explorer driven by Condon Hulgan of Montgomery crossed the centerline of Le Sueur County Road 26 and collided with a Mercedes driven by Jeffery Miller of Le Center.
Both drivers were killed, along with a passenger in the Mercedes and a passenger in the Explorer, and both drivers had alcohol in their system at the time of the accident.
Investigators say Hulgan's blood alcohol content was .214. Miller's BAC was .032.
The legal limit in Minnesota is .08.
The Patrol's investigation, which includes a reconstruction of the crash, continues.
