EAGLE LAKE, Minn. -

A Kentucky man is in jail, accused of robbing an Eagle Lake bank.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says the call came in just after 10:00 Tuesday morning from employees at the Peoples State Bank.

In a press release issued by the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office, authorities say bank employees stated that a white male had entered the bank, displayed a weapon, and demanded money.  The man apparently took the cash and fled.

Employees provided a vehicle description of the suspect as well as its direction of travel.  About 15 minutes later, a Minnesota State Trooper and Blue Earth County Sheriff's Deputy located the suspect's vehicle driving eastbound on Highway 14 east of Janesville.

They pursued the vehicle for several miles on gravel roads in Waseca County.

Eyewitnesses tell KEYC News 12 that the suspect was arrested at gunpoint by multiple officers on 350th Avenue, which is southwest of the city of Waseca.

Authorities say they found items related to the robbery in the suspect's possession.  The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office identifies him as George Richard Gaunt, 25, of Louisville, Kentucky.  He is in the Blue Earth County Jail awaiting formal charges.  He's expected to be charged with Aggravated Robbery and Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle.
