The New Ulm Medical Center is encouraging their patients to use electronic charts, also known as MyCharts.
The charts allow patients to access their medical records online, a service doctors say will cut down on hospital visits.
Lieser says, "Well before and even today, we still obviously send letters to patients or do phone calls, but it's a way for kind of immediate access to results once they come back. The doctor can include a message about things that need to be changed and ask questions to a doctor directly instead of coming in and asking or calling at all."
To sign up for the service, check the Allina Health Care website under my–charts.
