WATONWAN COUNTY, Minn. -
A judge in Watonwan County denied a request to dismiss a felony-theft case involving a county fraud investigator.
Jeffrey Matthews was charged with theft and misconduct back in August.
According to the criminal complaint, Matthews would only be at work for a short period of time and then would leave on non-work related activity, costing the county over $1,600 in wages.
Court documents say the defense sought to have the case dismissed based on insufficient probable cause.
An upcoming hearing on the case is scheduled for November 25.
