In honor of Veterans Day, Hy–Vee stores in Mankato served a free breakfast to more than 700 service men and women throughout the area.
Veterans were given a complimentary breakfast buffet from six to 11 this morning.
This tradition has gone on for about 13 years.
And kitchen manager Jen Ahrenstorff says serving those who sacrificed so much is the least they can do.
Ahrenstorff says, "Why wouldn't you do it? Why would you not do it? I mean these people that have served, are serving, I mean. They allow us to sleep at night. And my father was in the military for 22 years. I've always been a big supporter and proud."
Ahrenstorff says the veterans she saw today fought in wars ranging from World War Two to Iraq and Afghanistan.
