The Salvation Army in Council Bluffs got an unusual donation over the weekend.
Someone dropped off a quartered deer into one of the drop boxes outside the building.
In his 45 years as an officer for the Salvation Army, Major Laurence McPherson has never seen anything quite like it.
McPherson says, "First time I've had a donated deer, in its skin. It usually has been taken to a butcher and prepped for us so that we can utilize it for the folks that we feed here."
McPherson says they do from time to time get unusual things, but the majority of individuals are very conscientious of giving the things that are right that they can utilize for their program and to assist the people that need help.
