KEYC - Mankato Ballet Company Presents the Nutcracker

Mankato Ballet Company Presents the Nutcracker

The Mankato Ballet Company has just completed its annual performance of the Nutcracker.

But this year's rendition hand a special twist: the Mankato Symphony orchestra played the live music to accompany the dancers.

This addition is something event organizers say put a little more magic into a Christmas–time favorite for generations.

Michels says, "It makes the show so much more alive. You feel the music as it's going and you can see the dancers sparkle a little bit with the live music. It's been amazing."

Organizers say the performance was sold out at MSU's theater.

The 99 dancers taking part in the event put a lot of work into the show, as they have been practicing since August.
