Glencoe Soldier Surprises Kids with Unique Homecoming

Posted: Updated:

After nearly a year-long deployment, a Minnesota Army National Guard member, came home.

First Lt. Nick Aldrich, of Glencoe, was in Afghanistan for 11 months.

Aldrich and his wife have four young children who haven't seen him in a year.

While he spent his time under constant threat of enemy attack and clearing roadside bombs, the thought of this day kept him going.

With the help from fellow soldiers from Glencoe and the folks at Mall of America's "Sea Life" Aquarium, he's on his way to making happier memories.

Certainly the best Christmas gift four little kids and a wife could ask for.
