While the weather and temperature is far from making farmers think about planting season, they still have an opportunity today in Mankato to talk about the upcoming year.
Day two of the Minnesota Ag-Expo for 2014 is being held today at the Verizon Wireless Center.
Over 80 exhibitors are on display in the arena with breakout sessions being held to discuss burning topics like renewable fuels in other halls at the facility.
Exhibitors say it is a good chance to catch up with people they only get to see during the off-season, and a way to see what is in store for the future of farming.
Cab Lab Exhibitor Jeff Beckman says, "It's a time to gather facts and say ok, what are some of my purchases, here they can help me make a difference in my operation. Become more efficient. What in precision technology is new? What tools are available for when I'm spreading fertilizer? Or harvesting, that I can see and better use? My nutrients in better placings going in...so it's a learning opportunity."
Beckman says the Cab Lab exhibit he is operating is a good way for people young and old to get a feel for what it is like to operate a tractor.
The Ag Expo runs until four o'clock today.
