Brunz says, "I actually was very teary–eyed. It was quite the honor. I love working at Eagle Lake elementary school and the support that we have here from the community, the students and our staff is just tremendous. It's an honor and just feel very fortunate to represent this area."
And today, Brunz helped organize the Jump Rope for Heart event held at the school's gym.Students jumped roped for an hour and a half to raise money for the American Heart Association.
And even at a young age, these students know they are helping making a difference in the lives of many.
Megan Friedrichs says, "Well there are some kids with heart cancer. We wanted to help them so they get better."
The students gathered into teams and collected pledges that will be sent to the American Heart Association.
