An arrest has been made after the owners of Mocol's Super Market on North Broad Street, reported a burglary at their business at 6:40 a.m. Saturday.
Forced entry had been made and numerous items taken, including small electronics.
Video surveillance and information from the community led to the questioning of a 16-year-old male from Mankato who was arrested, taken into custody and brought to a juvenile detention center.
Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel says this was a good example of a neighborhood watch group helping bring a quick close to a case.
Schisel says, "There's a lot of talk that goes on and neighbors help solve a lot of crimes and in this particular case they had some ideas of people that were in that area and actually with the surveillance and word of mouth, helped solve this crime relatively quickly."
Schisel says the suspect was found at a relative's home that lived near the grocery store.
Second degree burglary, a felony and other related theft charges are being requested.
